Helen's Do's and Don'ts of Japanese Cuisine

Hi everyone!
For my theme, I will be focusing on Japanese cuisine, so I'm going to give you some tips on manners and social interactions while dining in Japan.

DO finish your rice. It is considered polite.
DON'T blow your nose at the table.
DO slurp your noodles. It is a sign that you enjoyed your meal.
DON'T use too much wasabi. You will implode. (Not really, but you'll definitely regret it.)
DO use your fingers while eating sushi, as well as chopsticks. Just make that decision based on the dining setting.
DON'T fill up the shoyu (soy sauce) bowl too full. That's considered wasteful.
DO eat the whole sushi in one bite. If you try to bite it in half delicately, you will fail miserably.
DON'T be too boisterous while in a restaurant. Japanese restaurants tend to be quieter than American dining establishments.

I hope my tips were helpful! Remember, dining behavior creates just as large an impression as speaking or interacting with others.

Mata ne, (See you again!)
